Hemang Yadav has been actively involved in theatre since his JC days, when he was a member of the Singapore Repertory Theatre’s Young Company.
He made his debut with Peel Art’s 4 Chords and the Truth during the 2000 Arts Fest in the production While Stocks Last.
He played the memorable role of John in Stageclub’s Whose Life is it Anyway and has performed in two musicals by the Next Stage, acting in the title role of Swami in The Swami, The Cow & the Spaceman and the role of Grandpa in 10 Days of Mourning, for which he sang a solo song.
Hemang has acted in several films, including a the award-winning local film Singapore Dreaming, the Mandarin film Red Strings made by Ngee Ann Polytechnic students which won the Canon Digital Fest, a memorable role in the recent local trilingual production Gone Shopping, as well as lead roles in two short films made by Ngee Ann Polytechnic students, Flyer and Truth at 24 frames per second.
He has appeared in the popular local TV sitcom Police & Thief and the docudrama on terrorism, Without Warning.
Hemang played the Bhagavatha in Girish Karnad’s Horseface, produced by Experimental Theatre Club, and acted in one of the top 20 short-listed plays, Haven’t, for the 10 minute play festival Short and Sweet.
Recently, he has written two short plays.
Currently, Hemang is actively involved in bringing drama to the classrooms and the corporate world through drama in education, road-shows and role-playing.
